HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Hold on to your hats! Wednesday morning will bring some gusty winds over 40 mph at times.
A Wind Advisory for Chambers, Galveston, Brazoria, Matagorda, and coastal Harris Counties until noon.
The good news is that the strong winds should prevent any dense fog from forming in the morning. They will also keep low temperatures near record warm levels in the low 70s. There is a small chance for a shower in the morning through about 1:00 p.m.
Wednesday afternoon will likely be our warmest of the week with most of Southeast Texas registering highs in the mid 80s. Once the winds slow down Wednesday night, dense sea fog will develop again and push inland for the Thursday morning commute.
How are rain chances looking this week?
Not much rain will fall. We have a 20% chance for a light shower Wednesday morning and midday, but amounts should be less than a tenth of an inch. There might be a random sprinkle in spots each morning Thursday through the weekend due to morning clouds and higher humidity.
How long will the muggy air stick around?
We will have warm and humid air across Southeast Texas through the weekend, which will bring morning temperatures in the upper 60s and low 70s with afternoons highs in the 80s. A Pacific cool front is expected to drop the humidity starting next Monday.
How is the weather looking this weekend for the Downtown Rodeo Parade?
Warm and humid, but we should stay mainly dry. There might be some fog in spots in the morning and a very small chance for a sprinkle. Temperatures when the parade starts at 10:00 a.m. Saturday should already be in the 70s with high humidity.
