HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — After a gorgeous Monday, changes arrive Tuesday.
A warm front will lift through SE Texas early Tuesday morning increasing temperatures and moisture. Sea fog has developed prompting a Dense Fog Advisory until 8 a.m. for Galveston Bay and coastal waters from High Island to Freeport.
Fog should break up inland by mid morning. Scattered showers will develop through much of the day Tuesday. A couple of strong storms also cannot be ruled out, especially east of the I-45 corridor. The biggest risk will be east of us towards the Mississippi River Valley. Winds will also pick up with sustained wind speeds between 20-30 mph.
Could we see any flooding Tuesday?
Flooding is not anticipated as much of the area should see well less than a half an inch of rain. If we do get a heavier storm, a quick inch can’t be completely ruled out.
What are we expecting for the rest of the week?
A cold front moves in early Wednesday cooling us down especially on Wednesday and Thursday. Southeasterly winds return Friday bringing back moisture and warmer temperatures. Slight chances of rain are in the forecast for Friday and Saturday.
