HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A weak front that moved through the area overnight has us starting off cool and quiet this morning, with most of the area waking up to temperatures in the mid to upper 40s.
There’s a bit of patchy fog along the coast, but most of the area is seeing fine visibility on this crisp fall morning. We’ll see mostly sunny skies today, which will help high temps to top out a little above 70 degrees. Moisture increases late Monday into Tuesday bringing back a chance of rain to SE Texas.
What can we expect for the work week?
We’ll start the week warm and dry on Monday, but we could see some rain roll in Tuesday. A warm front is expected to lift north tonight bringing up our temperatures and moisture. This is expected to lead to scattered showers and storms… some could be strong. The better chances for severe weather look to stay northeast of our viewing area, in particular along the Mississippi Delta, though we’ll be on alert for an isolated strong to severe storm in Southeast Texas as well. A cold front moves in early Wednesday drying us out and cooling us back down. The cooldown will be brief however, as highs rebound into the 70s by Friday and into next weekend.
