HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — The lack of rain over the city Sunday allowed temps to rise to 97. We’ll have similar weather Monday through Wednesday before rain chances increase big time on Thursday.
Temperatures will start in the mid 70s and warm into the upper 90s, which is slightly above average for early August.
What is the rain outlook for the week ahead?
Not bad! We have a 30% chance of rain in the forecast each afternoon through Tuesday. It will still get hot in the upper 90s, but the scattered downpours will help cool things down. A larger disturbance rotating around the heat ridge will reach us Thursday to bring even higher rain chances. As an added bonus, highs will have a tough time climbing out of the 80s while it’s around Thursday and Friday. None of this rain will bust the drought, but it should keep it from getting worse.
