Dallas police have identified a suspect in connection with a fatal shooting Thursday afternoon at a park in Old East Dallas.
Nicholas Fields, 30, is wanted in connection with the shooting, police said. Police did not provide a detailed description of him.
Shortly after 1:45 p.m. Thursday, officers were dispatched to a report of a shooting near Central Square Park, at Oak and Floyd streets, police said.
They found the victim, who has not been identified, lying on the sidewalk with multiple gunshot wounds to his chest. Dallas Fire-Rescue took the man to a hospital, where he died.
Multiple witnesses told officers that the gunman walked up to the victim and shot him three times, police said, adding that there was no argument or confrontation before the incident and they are unsure of a motive for the shooting.
Police said they believe both the victim and the shooter were experiencing homelessness.
