Grapevine has documented a total of 10,439 confirmed cases of the coronavirus, 96 deaths and 8,501 recoveries among residents, according to the Tarrant County website.
As of Thursday, Grapevine has 1,938 active cases and Tarrant County has 110,685 active cases.
The omicron variant of the coronavirus has recently spurred a surge in cases across Texas.
The omicron variant, first detected in South Africa, appears to have more than 30 mutations in the coronavirus’ spike protein, which could affect how easily it spreads to people. U.S. health officials are urging unvaccinated Americans to get their shots and eligible adults to get booster shots.
Vaccines against the coronavirus became available on March 29 to all adults. The Department of State Health Services has posted information about when and where Texas residents can get a vaccine, with vaccines for young kids approved as well.
