HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — A frigid north wind will push our temps into the 30s Friday morning. The Houston area will experience middle and upper 30s while our north and northwest areas will deal with a brief, light freeze.
The weather will rapidly change this weekend when a warm front moves in bringing us a combination of warm temps, rain and thunderstorms.
What’s my chance of getting wet this weekend?
Pretty high. There’s a 70% chance on Saturday and a 60% chance on Sunday.
Any chance for severe weather?
An upper air disturbance will combine with warm, humid air from the Gulf to bring chances for showers and thunderstorms both Saturday and Sunday. There will be enough instability and wind shear in the atmosphere to give us thunderstorms, with an isolated chance for severe weather. The chance is low but we’ll be watching for damaging winds, hail, and isolated tornadoes so please keep up with the weather this weekend.
