HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — The much advertised cold front will move through Thursday morning. Before the front moves through, there will be the potential for dense fog.
A Dense Fog Advisory is in effect until 6 am for areas south of I-10. Once the cold front moves through, the clouds will clear as drier air filters in. Afternoon temperatures will be 10-15 degrees cooler than yesterday.
This front should pass through mostly dry, but there is a better chance of thunderstorms coming our way this weekend.
How severe will this next temperature swing be?
We’ll go from the middle 70s Wednesday afternoon, to the middle 30s on Friday morning. A light freeze is possible north of I-10.
What is the outlook for the weekend?
An upper air disturbance will combine with warm, humid air from the Gulf to bring chances for showers and thunderstorms both Saturday and Sunday. You can expect a mild start to Saturday before the warm air rushes in. That warm front will come with scattered thunderstorms, some of which could rotate and produce severe weather. Highs will be in the 70s both days with lows in the 50s Saturday and lows in the 60s Sunday.
