Brisbane, Australia – A 97-year-old record in the history of Test cricket was broken on the third day of the Brisbane Test between Australia and England in the ongoing Ashes Series. The Australian team achieved a unique and collective batting feat in their first innings that had not been witnessed for nearly a century.
In Australia’s first innings, all 11 players entered double figures (10 or more runs). This marks only the second instance in Test cricket history—and the first in 97 years—that every player in a team has reached this milestone in a single Test innings.
Regarding the match status, England was bowled out for 334 runs in their first innings. In response, the Australian team displayed strong batting to score 511 runs, securing a crucial 177-run lead.
England faced significant difficulty in their second innings, scoring 134 runs for the loss of 6 wickets by the end of the third day. They still require another 43 runs to avoid an innings defeat. The series has already favored the home team, as the first Test of the Ashes series concluded in just two days, with Australia defeating England by 8 wickets after chasing down a target of 205 runs with only two wickets down.
