Bollywood’s Senior Actress Jaya Bachchan Marks 86th Birthday, Sparking Nostalgia Around her Relationship with Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha
Bollywood’s legendary actress Jaya Bachchan, celebrating her 86th birthday today, has brought back a nostalgic memory from her past. As reported by the Indian media, film historian Haniuf Zuberi revealed in an interview that when rumors of Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha’s relationship were at their peak, Jaya Bachchan invited Rekha to her home for lunch. At the end of their meeting, Jaya Bachchan bluntly stated, ‘Look, Amitabh was mine, will always be mine, and will remain mine.’ According to Zuberi, this moment marked a crucial turning point for Rekha, who subsequently distanced herself from Amitabh on both a personal and professional level.
Jaya Bachchan and Amitabh Bachchan’s relationship started during the filming of the movie ‘Ek Nazar,’ and when Amitabh was injured on the set of ‘Qila,’ Jaya took care of him day and night in the hospital. It was then that Amitabh decided to end his relationship with Rekha. It is worth noting that Jaya Bachchan and Amitabh Bachchan got married in 1973, and they have two children, Shweta Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan. On the other hand, Rekha married businessman Mukesh Aggarwal in 1990, but their marriage ended with Aggarwal’s suicide just seven months later, after which Rekha never remarried.
In a recent interview, Rekha stated, ‘My name has been called back twice, and I have been a part of this industry for 33 years. I don’t know what the Star of the Order is awarded to.’ She added that women are often ignored when they speak up. Other Indian celebrities like Naima Butt, Raabia Nurin, Bushra Ansari, and Mehwish Hayat, have also spoken out about their struggles and experiences in the entertainment industry.
However, the recent controversy surrounding actress Gauahar Khan has sparked a heated debate. She has been accused of using illicit substances, and her fans have come out in support of her. Meanwhile, Pakistani actor Ali Rehman and actress Hina Altaf have shared their experiences of shooting romantic scenes for their new drama.
In other news, Indian Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, have had a telephone conversation. Pakistani Prime Minister’s daughter Saima Solho Hassan has decided to limit the number of cars in her official convoy. Israeli Finance Minister Betzalel Smotrich has announced that Israel will expand its borders after the end of the war, and a new settlement will be built in the West Bank. Lebanese President Joseph Aoun has stated that direct talks with Israel have begun, focusing on disarmament and establishing peaceful relations between the two countries.
