The chief minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Saeed Afridi, has launched the Fuel Support Scheme in the province, as per his directives. In a statement issued from Peshawar, the chief minister said that motorbike, scooter, and rickshaw owners will receive a monthly subsidy of Rs. 2000, with the aim of providing relief to the low-income segment affected by inflation. He stated that only registered vehicle owners will be eligible for the scheme, and the vehicle must be registered in the name of the applicant.
Afridi further said that providing relief to the people is the government’s top priority, and the registration process will begin on 6th April. Applications will be submitted through the Dastak app. He stated that the government is taking practical steps to reduce the effects of inflation, and the Fuel Support Scheme is an important plan for public welfare.
Earlier, in a speech at a jirga in Bajaur, Afridi said that peace is indispensable for progress and prosperity, and the government is committed to ensuring lasting peace. He stated that everyone is on the same page for peace and prosperity, and the fight will continue. The government has also approved a package of Rs. 100 billion for the merger of districts.
