Iran’s military claims that the US is now trying to kill the Iranian-American pilot who successfully escaped from the downed plane in Iran. According to Iranian media, the military sources say that the US has conducted multiple airstrikes in the same region of Kohgiluyeh city where the Iranian military downed the US plane two days ago, and the pilot managed to escape. Iran was given a 10-day deadline to negotiate or open the Strait of Hormuz, and with only 48 hours left, the US President claims that the Iranian pilot has been likely detained by Iranian authorities, although this has not been officially confirmed.
A government official refused to comment on the pilot’s presence in Iran, stating that the US is not telling the whole truth and is even lying about the pilot’s situation. The US Embassy in Zimbabwe responded to Trump’s request to open the Strait of Hormuz with a tongue-in-cheek message saying “the key is lost.” When Trump threatened to take military action, the embassy suggested that he should look at the clock and move the deadline forward or backward.
The US President, Donald Trump, has stated that the Monday deadline is final and that the US military is the greatest in the world. Iranian media reports that Iran has rejected the ceasefire and that the Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, has strongly condemned the US and Israeli airstrikes on the Sharif University of Technology. Defense experts say that Iran does not rely on traditional naval forces to control the Strait of Hormuz, but instead uses multi-layered defense strategies.
According to the Iranian news agency, the PARS Petrochemical Company was not affected in the attack. A US Congress member has compared the US’s first-line technology university, MIT, to the Sharif University of Technology in Iran, stating that the US’s response to the attack on the Bushehr power plant by US and Israeli forces is insufficient and that effective and decisive action is needed.
During the mission, the planes landed on an inactive airbase and sank into the ground, causing the US military to destroy them. The spokesperson of the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the possibility of nuclear material theft cannot be ignored during the US operation, and the operation was disastrous for the US. Israeli media claims that the repeated attacks from different directions have made the Israeli defense system ineffective, and Israel needs time to load interceptors.
