Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Petroleum, Ali Haider Zaidi, revealed that the country’s leaders are considering closing markets early to mitigate the impact of the ongoing economic crisis. If implemented, this decision would result in only wedding halls and restaurants remaining open until 10 pm. In an exclusive interview with Shahzeb Khanzada, Minister Zaidi stated that the Minister for Finance would be traveling abroad next week to meet with officials from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank to brief them on the severity of the economic situation. The Minister emphasized that a comprehensive review of the country’s economic framework would be necessary to address the crisis.

Furthermore, the Minister mentioned that Pakistan has started providing natural gas from local fields at a rate of 400-500 MMCFD after the supply from Qatar was halted. In a separate statement, Atta Tarar stated that Pakistan had destroyed 286 Taliban checkposts and taken control of 44, in addition to destroying tanks, armored vehicles, and drones.
