The United States is on the verge of a significant shift in its Middle East policy, with President Donald Trump confirming the country’s withdrawal from Iran in the next two to three weeks. This move may be preceded by a possible deal between the two nations. Addressing a press conference at his office, Trump expressed his confidence that the US would soon exit Iran, stating that the Iranian regime has already undergone significant changes. He suggested that if France and other countries require oil and gas, they should navigate through the Strait of Hormuz, implying that they could defend themselves against any potential threats.
The US President made it clear that any incidents in the Strait of Hormuz would be none of America’s concern, as Iran would need to take responsibility for its own security. Trump also criticized his critics, stating that they have accused him of being a dictator, but failed to mention what they had achieved in the past four years. He emphasized his desire to maintain open borders and allow criminals to enter the US, claiming that his opponents had allowed 25 million people to enter America.
Trump also announced that the White House was taking measures to protect its security, mentioning that several projects, funded by large corporations and wealthy individuals, were underway to enhance the security of the White House. According to the US Department of State, a notification has been issued to the signatories of the Board of Peace Charter.
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf responded to Trump’s threat of attacking Iran with rocks, saying, “Listen carefully, I’ve been to the battlefield with a rifle since I was 18.” The Revolutionary Guards claimed that the US and Israel had targeted the center of a tech company in Iran, which was a response to their attacks. The US and Israel had previously attacked Dr. Kamal Kharazi’s home in Tehran, killing his wife and leaving him severely injured. Dr. Kharazi was later transferred to a hospital, where he was in a coma.
China has stated that if Iran continues to be at war, the Strait of Hormuz will not be reopened, and Iran must immediately cease hostilities. Austria has refused to provide airspace to the US for potential attacks on Iran. Congresswoman Yasmine Ansari described Trump’s threat to send Iran back to the Stone Age as “intolerable and terrifying.”
Trump compared the opposition to his own critics, stating that they were the same people who had mistreated his wife. Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh described the US and Israeli attack on Iran’s Pasteur Institute as “shameful.” According to a British newspaper report, a new pipeline will bypass the chokepoint of the Strait of Hormuz due to Iranian control.
Amir Hatami warned that if any enemy launched a ground attack on Iran, it would be completely destroyed. Fakhruddin Zaman, a Pakistani cricket player, had appealed to the Technical Committee of the Pakistan Super League to lift the two-match ban imposed on him for ball tampering, but his appeal was rejected.
