Senior Pakistani actor Ayub Khoso is receiving immense praise for his portrayal of the character ‘Lala’ in the Geo TV drama serial ‘Hamrahi’. In an interview with Jung Digital, Ayub Khoso revealed that he is receiving a tremendous response to his character, with fans calling and sending messages from different cities and abroad. He further stated that the direction of Babar Javed was excellent, and he worked with all the actors in unison, while the production level of the drama was of international standard. Ayub Khoso also praised Danish Taimoor and Shehbaz Nazeer for bringing realism to their respective characters, which is the reason why the first two episodes have garnered over 20 million views on social media.
Ayub Khoso, who has won numerous awards, including a presidential award, stated that 2026 has been a year of great success for him, with two to three dramas airing on different TV channels, and his film ‘Aag Laga Basty Main’ receiving critical acclaim. He revealed that he had a great experience working with Tabish Hashmi and expressed his gratitude for the opportunity.
Ayub Khoso also spoke about his natural appearance, stating that the audience has accepted his natural look, and he has even tried to change it, but they have still preferred him with his long hair. He joked that his son has also inherited his long hair, and he has told him to either keep it or let him keep it.
Apart from acting, Ayub Khoso has also directed a drama, ‘Sokeh Patte’, which was shot in Pakistan and Canada. He praised the actors, including Umaira Ashraf, Farah Shah, Senita Marshall, Saud, Nilima Hassan, and Suresh Oberoi, for their cooperation. He stated that directing was a challenging task, but he was able to deliver a good result.
Ayub Khoso’s impressive career spans over three decades, with popular dramas such as ‘Chhaoon’, ‘Bhnor’, ‘Naakhauda’, ‘Doraja’, ‘Dast’, ‘Punjra’, ‘Sissi’, ‘Aahen’, ‘Kashkool’, ‘Bagee’, ‘Dhuam’, ‘Khuda Zameen Se Gaya Nahin’, and others. He has also acted in several feature films, including ‘Khuda Ke Liay’, ‘Salatant’, ‘021’, ‘Yalghar’, ‘Welcome to Karachi Hijrat’, ‘Royaj of the Worthless’, and ‘Aag Laga Basty Main’.
Ayub Khoso has also written a drama, ‘Janu’, which received critical acclaim, and he even acted in the leading role. He won the ‘Best Writer’ award for the drama at the PTV Awards. He has been nominated for several awards as an actor, but this was his first award as a writer, followed by the ‘Best Actor’ award at the PTV Awards.
However, Ayub Khoso was recently involved in a controversy when she appeared in an Eid special program with a controversial segment that used a distorted image of her childhood. The segment went viral on social media, and she was criticized for it.
