Lahore Qalandars’ Fawad Zaman Charged with Level 3 Fine for Code of Conduct Breach
Pakistan Super League (PSL) has seen a significant development after Lahore Qalandars’ Fawad Zaman was charged with a Level 3 fine for a breach of the Code of Conduct. The incident occurred during their match against Karachi Kings, where Zaman was seen tampering with the ball. According to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Zaman has violated Article 2.3 of the PSL’s Playing Conditions, which pertains to the condition of the ball.
Following an inquiry, PCB management is in touch with the match referee, Roshan Mahmoon, who conducted a disciplinary hearing. Zaman denied the charges against him. The case will be heard again within the next 48 hours, after which the match referee will announce the decision.
In a separate incident, PCB has imposed a fine on Karachi Kings’ fast bowler Hasan Ali for breaching the Code of Conduct. Ali pleaded guilty to the charge and was fined 10% of the match fee.
The ball-tampering incident occurred during the second innings of the match between Lahore Qalandars and Karachi Kings, which was held in Lahore. Due to heavy rain and strong winds, the field became waterlogged, making it impossible to conduct the coin toss.
