Amira Rabbab Chaudhary has announced that she will file an appeal in the Supreme Court against the acquittal of the suspects involved in the Tahir murder case. Speaking outside the court, Amira Rabbab expressed her disappointment over the decision, stating that it was a reflection of the state’s judicial system, whereas the people had already made up their minds about the case and had already considered it a victory in their own court of public opinion.
“I am not defeated in this struggle,” she said. “My resolve to seek justice remains firm. It is strange that no one has been punished, even those who were on the run for three years. This case was not just about my family, but about the struggle of the oppressed against the feudal system.” She added that her resolve has only grown stronger.
The District and Sessions Court in Dadu had earlier reserved its judgment after hearing the testimonies of witnesses and evidence in the case. Amira Rabbab further stated that she would file an appeal in the High Court and the Supreme Court as her hands were not tied, and she would continue to fight for justice.
On the other hand, Amira Rabbab’s lawyer, Salahuddin Panhwar, spoke to Geo News and stated that three people were being killed every day in the Sardari system, and the case had witnesses and medical evidence. He added that they would file an appeal in the High Court and the Supreme Court.
