Iranian media stated that the attack took place in the region of Tehran, where a residential building was struck, resulting in the deaths of six members of an Afghan family and four Iranian civilians. Several people were injured in the attack.
US President Donald Trump mentioned that new people in Iran are acting even more reasonably now. Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo stated that Iran should stop producing missiles, drones, and providing support to terrorists. Retired Director of the US Counterterrorism Center, John Bennett, suggested that the US should refrain from sending ground troops to Iran.
A distressing video of an Iranian woman, who lost her child in the airstrike, has been shared on social media. US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo stated that the US has clear objectives in the operation against Iran. Reports from Arab media suggest that Iran has launched over 5,200 attacks on Gulf countries in the past 30 days.
According to ship tracking data, the two container ships, Abqaiq and Hermaz, have crossed the Strait of Hormuz and are heading towards Malaysia. Severe floods have been reported in several provinces in Afghanistan since Thursday. US Secretary of the Treasury, Steven Mnuchin, stated that the US will regain control of the Strait of Hormuz with time.
The Israeli military has confirmed that 261 soldiers have been injured since the start of the conflict, although the number of fatalities remains unclear. Lebanon’s Foreign Ministry had previously asked Iranian Ambassador Mohammad Reza Shibani to leave the country, and he was given until March 29 to depart. European Council President Antonio Costa expressed his appreciation for Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts in resolving the Middle East issue during a phone call with Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
