The federal minister for Kashmir Affairs, Amir Muqam, has stated that Indian courts are being used to suppress the freedom movement of Kashmiris. During a press conference alongside the leadership of the Jamaat-e-Islami, Amir Muqam said that Kashmiri leaders are being sentenced in false cases and despite Indian atrocities, the spirit of freedom among Kashmiris remains unbroken. He added that Indian courts have sentenced Asiya Andrabi to life imprisonment, while Fahmeeda Sofi and Nayeeda Nasreen were sentenced to 30 years each. The federal minister for Kashmir Affairs stated that the Pakistani government strongly condemns and rejects such decisions, indicating that Indian courts are not independent. Amir Muqam said that there was no case against Asiya Andrabi, and she only spoke about freedom and rights, revealing the true face of India to the world. He added that India has been committing atrocities and barbarism for decades, and it is naive to think that they can silence the voices of Kashmiris. The minister stated that these women were sentenced as a punishment for their struggle for self-determination. Amir Muqam emphasized that India should know that these sentences cannot suppress the movement for self-determination among Kashmiris.
