Lahore, Pakistan – In a significant breakthrough in the case of a dacoity worth 19 crores rupees, the perpetrators, who had changed the number plate of the vehicle they stole, were identified through CCTV cameras in Safe City despite their attempt to evade capture. The dacoits, who had committed the crime on March 14, had changed the number plate of the owner’s car and driven away towards Peshawar via the Motorway. They returned the next day in the same vehicle, but a police encounter ensued at the Fairuzpur Road, which was captured on CCTV footage. According to the police, the four dacoits had stolen the owner’s car and driven away, but they returned the next day with the original number plate, only to be identified by the Safe City cameras.
The police said that the dacoits had driven away from the Motorway interchange and headed towards Peshawar, but they were chased by the police. A fierce gun battle ensued, which resulted in the death of one dacoit and another being injured. The deceased dacoit was identified as Zazai Khan, while the other three dacoits managed to escape. They later changed their vehicle and drove to Jhelum via GT Road, where another gun battle took place, resulting in the death of an elderly man. However, the dacoits managed to escape, and their whereabouts are still unknown.
