A 14-year-old girl who went missing from Karachi’s municipal area of Township on March 20 was rescued after a suspect was arrested. According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Masroor Ahmed Jatoi, the girl was lured by the suspect through social media and later raped. Investigation officers said the suspect posed as a trader and used fake social media profiles to trap the girl.
The suspect, who was identified as a driver, showed the girl pictures of vehicles and houses to mislead her. Police said the girl was abducted and raped, and an initial medical examination confirmed the abuse. The suspect was arrested after a tip-off from the girl’s family.
