Trump further stated that the US Navy and Air Force have destroyed Iran’s leadership, and that this is a regime change. He also mentioned that the US has received a gift from Iran, which included a significant increase in oil and gas supplies. Trump claimed that the US is achieving great successes in Tehran and that countries like Saudi Arabia, the UAE, and Qatar have been very supportive in the case of Iran.
The US President also stated that a delegation, including Vice President Mike Pence, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Special Envoy for the Middle East, Steve Whitaker, and National Security Adviser, John Bolton, is involved in the negotiations with Iran. Meanwhile, a crisis has emerged in India due to a shortage of gas and petrol, which has forced the poor to resort to burning wood and coal.
The UN Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, has warned that the Middle East conflict is spiraling out of control, and that the world is facing a growing threat of a wider war. Pakistani Foreign Minister has been in touch with his counterparts in neighboring countries, including Iran, to discuss the ongoing crisis.
In response to the US proposals, the Iranian Foreign Minister, Javad Zarif, has expressed his disappointment and frustration. Iranian officials have stated that they have reviewed the US proposals and found them to be unacceptable.
The crisis in the Middle East has also affected shipping companies, with Cosco, a major Chinese shipping company, resuming bookings with some Gulf countries after a three-week hiatus. Iranian officials have warned that any US warship entering Iran’s territorial waters will be targeted.
Turkish President, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has been praised for his strong stance against Israeli aggression. Iraqi Prime Minister, Mohammed al-Sadr, has called for the US Ambassador to Iraq to be summoned over the issue of US airstrikes on Iraqi military units.
