Pakistan’s Sindh Chief Minister, Murad Ali Shah, has emphasized the need for unity in the face of the country’s numerous challenges. Shah was present at the Mazar-e-Qaid with the Sindh Governor, Imran Ismail, and other cabinet members. In a press conference, Shah stated that the martyrs of the Pakistan Movement, including Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, and his sister, Benazir Bhutto, had fought to turn Quaid-e-Azam’s dream into a reality. He added that the struggle of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) under the leadership of Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto continues to this day, and that following Quaid-e-Azam’s principles is essential for the country’s progress.
Air Vice Marshal Shahid Ashraf also visited the Mazar-e-Iqbal, laid flowers, and offered prayers. He also wrote his impressions in the guests’ book. Shah reiterated that the Sindh government is committed to the welfare of the people and believes that it is essential to educate the youth about Quaid-e-Azam’s ideology. He emphasized that the country’s primary focus should be on becoming economically and socially stable. Shah also highlighted the role of Sindh in the creation of Pakistan, pointing out that the province’s assembly had passed a resolution in favor of Pakistan.
Meanwhile, the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has approved a new electricity tariff, sparking concerns about the country’s energy crisis. PTI Chairman Imran Khan met his sister, Alimma Khan, who claimed that the party is being offered deals after three years in jail. Pakistan Railways earned a record amount of revenue from passenger trains during the Eid holidays. However, experts warn that the ongoing energy crisis could have severe consequences if it continues.
In related news, the Punjab Energy Department has submitted emergency proposals to the provincial government to deal with the energy crisis. The proposals include measures to reduce fuel consumption, optimize educational and business activities, and ensure the country’s energy security.
Amir Jamaat-e-Islami, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, has called for the immediate closure of fuel-based power plants. In a positive development, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has condemned the Iranian attack on Bahrain, terming it a “highly dangerous” escalation of the existing crisis. The UAE has been working with the US to reduce tension and prevent further escalation.
