Pakistan and India may have their differences, but a recent controversy surrounding the Indian film Dhaakad 2 has sparked tensions within India itself. The film has been embroiled in a dispute after a scene depicting a Sikh character smoking a cigarette while reciting a sacred text, known as the Guru Granth Sahib, has been deemed blasphemous by the Sikh community.
According to a report by Indian media, a First Information Report (FIR) has been filed against the film’s producers and actors at the Milind Police Station in Mumbai. The complaint was lodged by Gurjeet Singh Kair, the president of the Sikh organization “Sikh Sangat in Maharashtra” and a member of the Shiv Sena party.
