In a significant development, the Lahore High Court has allowed the bail of YouTubers Saad Ramzan and his wife, accused of taking bribes in a high-profile case. The court, in a written order, upheld the bail plea of Saad Ramzan, also known as Ducky, along with his wife and other accused individuals.
The court’s decision was made public through a six-page written order issued by Justice Abhar Gul Khan. The order was based on the written pleas filed by Saad Ramzan, Shoaib Riyaz, and Salman Aziz. The court directed the accused to submit a surety bond of one million rupees each to secure their release.
According to the case, Saad Ramzan and his wife were accused of taking bribes of Rs 5 million from former Additional Director Sarfraz Chaudhry. However, the court stated that there was no evidence to prove that the bribe was received directly from the complainant. The order also mentioned that the accused individuals used to take bribes from call centers as well, but no witness came forward to testify against them.
The court also ruled that the seized amount of $326,420 from Saad Ramzan’s digital account was related to the case, but the transfer of funds to his personal account by the investigating officer would be decided in the trial.
The Lahore High Court has allowed the bail of the accused individuals, paving the way for their release. This development comes as the Pakistani showbiz industry continues to grapple with various controversies.
