In a significant operation, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle 33 women abroad from hotel premises in Karachi’s Saddar area. Four suspects, including a woman, have been arrested in connection with the incident.
According to details, the FIA’s Anti-Human Trafficking Circle in Karachi conducted a raid on two hotels near the Passport Office in Saddar. The operation resulted in the rescue of 33 women, as well as the arrest of human traffickers and agents involved in the operation. The authorities seized 29 passports and other relevant materials from the suspects.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the women were being trafficked to the United Arab Emirates on the pretext of visiting visas. The FIA claimed that the women were intended to be used for prostitution and sexual exploitation. Three separate cases have been registered against the suspects under the Prevention of Trafficking in Persons Act 2018.
The Ministry of Education has formed a committee to implement the Fingerprint Recognition System. Federal Minister for Information, Atta Tarar, announced that operations were halted on the request of Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and Qatar. In a separate development, the hearing of a bail application filed by the leader of the Lyari gang war, Azizullah Baloch, was rejected for the second time.
In other news, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif spoke with the Crown Prince of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Khaled, over the phone to wish each other on Eid al-Fitr. The police stated that several cases have been registered against Bilawal Khan at various police stations, including murder, robbery, and land grabbing charges.
The Balochistan Chief Minister accused the terrorists of exploiting Baloch women. The court granted exemption from appearance to Aliema Khan in the case of anti-terrorism. Security sources stated that operations will continue until the objectives are achieved.
