Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s recent health saga has been at the center of international attention amidst the ongoing tensions with the United States and Israel. While rumors of his health issues have been circulating in the media, Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister, Seyed Mohammad Ali Bagheri Kani, has dismissed all such reports, stating that the Supreme Leader is in good health.
In an interview with Indian media, Bagheri Kani said, “I can assure you that Ayatollah Khamenei is absolutely fine. I’m sure you have already received his message, and we hope that he will soon convey another message to the people.”
The rumors of Khamenei’s health issues began circulating after a reported airstrike by the US and Israel on Tehran, which allegedly left him injured on February 28. In a recorded address, Khamenei said that the presence of US military forces in the region is increasing tensions and could lead to further attacks on their bases.
US President Donald Trump had also commented on the matter, saying that he was not aware of Khamenei’s health status and that if he was alive, he should make a wise decision for his country and surrender his arms.
Other reports had also suggested that Khamenei was airlifted to Moscow for medical treatment after being injured in the airstrike, where he underwent surgery for a leg injury. However, these claims have been denied by Iranian officials.
Meanwhile, Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu has described the new Iranian ballistic missile as a significant challenge, while the UAE Ministry of Defence has claimed to have destroyed 13 ballistic missiles using its defence systems.

The UN Fact-Finding Mission has stated that investigations are at an early stage, with Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari expressing his deep sorrow and condolences to the Iranian government and people over the death of Ali Shamkhani.
The US has alleged that Russia is sharing satellite images and advanced drone technology with Iran, while Arab media has reported that Israeli officials are assessing the results of the operation. The Governor of Lorestan Province in Iran has confirmed that the city of Dorud was targeted in the airstrikes.
The US has also linked the resignation of Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel to the lifting of energy sanctions.
