Karachi, Pakistan – In a dramatic turn of events, a fire broke out in two shops in the basement of a shopping mall on Tarique Road in Karachi. Firefighters from the city’s Fire Brigade, aided by five fire trucks, are working tirelessly to bring the situation under control. The fire is being battled with the help of a smoke machine that is being used to clear the smoke from the basement.
According to police officials, there have been no reports of any casualties, however, two firefighters, Bilal and Sikandar, are reportedly struggling to breathe due to the smoke. Federal Minister for Information, Attaullah Tarar, announced that he will be speaking to his children via phone on Eid day, and the team is working on gathering facts and records to ensure a fair and transparent report.
In other news, the Islamabad High Court has directed the Ministry of Religious Affairs to submit a report after a citizen requested an early announcement of the Eid moon sighting. Meanwhile, the Director General of the Intelligence Bureau (ISI) revealed that the drones used by the Afghan Taliban against Pakistan were supplied by India.
The Supreme Court has deemed the Federal Services Tribunal’s decision of November 20, 2023, null and void, stating that employees of the Cantonment Board do not meet the standards of civil servants. The Pakistan Ulema Council has welcomed the decision to hold an Islamic, Arab, and Foreign Ministers’ meeting.
