Pakistan has increased the price of motor oil by 39.20 rupees per liter, with the new price set at 358.01 rupees per liter. The federal government has decided to maintain the petroleum levy on petrol and diesel.
Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has announced that the government will maintain the price of petrol at 105.37 rupees per liter and diesel at 55.24 rupees per liter. The Ministry of Energy stated that the government will pay a subsidy of 230 billion rupees to maintain the prices of petrol and diesel.
The Ministry of Energy further explained that the amount will be paid to oil marketing companies in lieu of price deferment claims.
