The federal capital of Islamabad has witnessed an unprecedented security setup in the wake of Yom Kippur protests. In anticipation of potential security threats, several locations in Islamabad have been barricaded with containers, including the Red Zone and its surrounding areas. Police and Rangers personnel have been deployed to ensure the safety of citizens.
Key locations such as Aabpara, Seventh Avenue, D-Chowk, and Express Chowk have been closed off with containers. In response to the potential protests and demonstrations, the Islamabad Traffic Police has issued a traffic plan for the city.
Due to the heightened security concerns, the Islamabad Police spokesperson has announced that only the Maraghila Road will be open for those entering the Red Zone, while all other internal routes will be closed. The spokesperson has also advised citizens to use alternative routes.
Additionally, the US Embassy in Pakistan has restricted the movement of its employees until March 15, while the US Consulates in Karachi and Lahore have suspended all consular services until further notice.
The federal Minister for Information, Attaullah Tarrar, has announced updates on Operation Ghazab al-Haqq, highlighting the details of the damage caused by the Khawarij and Afghan Taliban.
Sindh Governor-elect Nihal Hashmi has vowed not to engage in politics of provocation, while Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has stated that the government will provide relief to the people to the extent possible in these challenging times.

In a separate incident, the bodies of two individuals were found in a field in the Serai Road area of Benazirabad. According to police, the victims were shot dead by unknown assailants.
In other news, the Islamabad Police spokesperson has announced that a bomb exploded near a police mobile in the Nursing Council area. A suspect has been arrested in connection with the alleged molestation of a mentally challenged woman in Hafizabad.
The Adviser to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister has announced that government employees will receive their salaries and pensions on March 16. The Peshawar Electric Supply Company has also announced that its employees will work for only four days a week, from Monday to Thursday.
In a development related to the weather, the Meteorological Department has warned that temperatures in Karachi are likely to rise further.
