Isolation of Opposition Members from Committees Sparks Debate on Future Course of Action
The opposition parties, led by Maulana Mahmood Achakzai, held a parliamentary party meeting to discuss the lawmaking process and other important issues. In the meeting, Shir Ali Arbab expressed concerns about the lawmaking process, stating that nothing was achieved after leaving the committees, and they were unable to present their position.
Arbab suggested that instead of resigning from the committees, members should submit their resignations directly from the Assembly. He also mentioned that they had a Public Accounts Committee where they could have asserted their status and power.
According to sources, Arbab threatened that if they do not return to the committees, they will submit their resignations from the Assembly as well. The opposition party meeting provided an opportunity for all members to share their opinions, after which a joint decision will be made.
