The country’s dairy farmers have been hit hard by the rising costs of milk production, with the price of a liter of milk in Karachi increasing to 320 rupees. The Dairy Farmers Association has written to the Commissioner, stating that a loss of 70 rupees per liter is unsustainable.
The association has called for a reduction in transportation costs and a decrease in the prices of petroleum products. However, the Pakistan Railways and transporters have increased their fares, further adding to the woes of the dairy farmers.
