The Swiss Minister of Defense, Martin Frisch, has publicly stated that the US and Israeli attacks on Iran are a violation of international law. The comments came in an interview published on Sunday, where Frisch emphasized that the Federal Council’s stance is that the attack on Iran is a violation of international law, which is against the principle of prohibition of violence.
Iran’s ambassador to the UK, Seyyed Ali Mousavi, echoed Frisch’s sentiments, stating that the reference is to all countries that are not adhering to the principle of prohibition of violence, including the US and Israel. Mousavi noted that the US and Israel have carried out airstrikes on Iran, thus violating international law just like Iran.
Other European leaders have also expressed their reactions to the conflict. The German Vice-Chancellor and Minister of Finance, Lars Klingbeil, stated that he has serious doubts about the legality of the war. China’s Foreign Minister Wang Yi said that the war should not have happened, and that the use of force is not a solution to the problem. According to Wang, the world is entering a dangerous era where laws are being abolished, and only the powerful are in control.
Spain has also deemed the Israeli-US bombing of Iran as irresponsible and illegal. Experts have stated that the US and Israeli attacks on Iran are a violation of the UN Charter, which prohibits aggression, and there is no legal justification for these attacks.
Lebanon’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Joseph Raad, condemned the attacks on Iran, saying that Hezbollah’s military operations do not represent the official policy of Lebanon. Abbas Aragchi, Iran’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, stated that Iran did not start the war, but rather took defensive measures against the attacks. He added that the Iranian operations targeted American military bases, facilities, and assets in the region.
The UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that they do not want to be involved in any conflict or tension. The UAE Ministry of Defense reported that the number of fatalities in the UAE due to Iranian attacks has reached 4, with Pakistani, Nepalese, and Bangladeshi citizens among the dead.
Since the start of the conflict with Iran, over 1900 people have been injured in Israel. The Pakistani community in Dubai has been warned not to share irresponsible content on social media.
Former Pakistani cricketer Saeed Ajmal stated that the government is not reducing its expenses, and the people are being burdened with the cost of petrol. He added that the provincial government is rejecting the increase in petrol prices, and the federal government should reduce its expenditure instead of burdening the people.
