Additionally, the US Embassy has ordered its non-essential staff to leave Lahore and Karachi, citing the same security concerns.
According to sources, two US officials stated that the US is still unsure whether the fired missiles hit any targets or caused casualties. However, the US Embassy has assured that the current situation in Islamabad remains unchanged.
The US Embassy has cited the growing tensions between the US and Iran as the primary reason for the security concerns. In a statement, the US Embassy said, “The United States and Iran are increasingly at odds, and we are taking precautions to ensure the safety of our personnel and citizens in the region.”
Meanwhile, the Pakistan government has announced that it will hold a joint parliamentary session to discuss the growing tensions in the Middle East and Afghanistan. The session will be attended by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and other senior officials.
