Pakistan’s military has launched retaliatory strikes against Afghan Taliban and Khawarij terrorists in a major operation codenamed “Operation Ghazab-e-Haq”. The operation is aimed at dismantling the terrorist infrastructure along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border. According to security sources, the Pakistan Army successfully foiled an attempt by Khawarij terrorists to infiltrate the country near the town of Tor Khumm.
During the operation, the commander of the Afghan Taliban, identified as Qahraman, was killed along with his accomplices. Qahraman was reportedly a resident of Jalalabad and had been involved in terrorist activities in the region. The operation was carried out in the wee hours of March 3-4 with heavy artillery.
The Pakistan Army has reportedly destroyed 50 terrorist hideouts belonging to Afghan Taliban, Khawarij, and Fidayeen-e-Hind in the Chaman, Sambaza, Ghadawana, Janni, and Ghaznavi sectors. The terrorist infrastructure in these areas was being used to launch cross-border attacks on Pakistan.
The operation has caused significant losses to the terrorists, including heavy casualties and financial losses. Security sources claim that the Pakistan Army is determined to protect national sovereignty and the lives of its citizens.
In a related development, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif spoke with Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati to condemn the Israeli aggression against Lebanon. The Prime Minister also met with a delegation of Pakistani and opposition parties to discuss the situation in the Middle East and Afghanistan.
The government has decided to hold a joint session of the parliament to discuss the situation in the Middle East and Afghanistan. In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Pakistan is committed to finding a peaceful solution to the conflict and has urged the international community to support this effort.
