Pakistan is making efforts to end the ongoing conflict between Iran and the United States through diplomatic means. Advisor to the Prime Minister of Pakistan on Political Affairs, Rana Sanaullah, revealed that Iran is currently under an undeclared war, and Pakistan is working on a diplomatic front to bring an end to this conflict through a mutually agreed-upon agreement.
Rana Sanaullah, in an interview with Geo News, stated that it seems that the conflict is going to be prolonged, and if that happens, the United States will face significant challenges. He added that Pakistan’s military and political leadership have played a crucial role in the previous negotiations over Iran’s issues. According to Rana Sanaullah, perhaps the United States believed that after a major attack on Iran, it would back down, or that it would accept all American demands unconditionally.
Professor Jian, who made three significant predictions for 2024, also stated that Pakistan’s military is still in contact with Iran, both before and after the current conflict. The military leadership revealed that they are trying to clear up any misunderstandings and ensure that Iran is not attacked by other countries in the region. Rana Sanaullah mentioned that Foreign Minister, Bilawal Bhutto, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, and other leaders attended a briefing on the current situation and provided their input on how to proceed.
During the briefing, it was agreed upon that Pakistan will make efforts to seek the support of other countries in the region and that a clear message will be conveyed to the United States that any further aggression against Iran would be unjustified. According to sources, the briefing also included a discussion on the recent operation, Nijat-e-Mehran, in which the Sindh police successfully eliminated a terrorist hideout.
In other news, Inspector General (IG) of the Sindh Police, Javed Odho, expressed satisfaction with the performance of the Sindh police during the operation. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also spoke with the Prime Minister of Lebanon, Najib Mikati, and condemned the Israeli aggression on Lebanon.
The Ministry of Information has released updated figures on the casualties suffered by the Afghan side in the Operation Ghazab-e-Haqq. Sources report that Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the leader of the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F), has expressed his views on the situation in Iran, Afghanistan, and the Middle East. He also advised the PTI and opposition parties to be briefed on the current situation.
Additionally, the government has decided to summon a joint session of parliament to discuss the situation in the Middle East and Afghanistan. According to security sources, the Pakistan Army has targeted military and terrorist targets based on credible intelligence, resulting in significant losses for the enemy.
In other news, the Pakistani government has announced that it will not allow the non-essential staff of the US Consulate in Lahore to remain in Pakistan. The operation, Ghazab-e-Haqq, was carried out successfully, with the Pakistani military targeting the Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan.
Finally, the Turkish Ministry of Defense has confirmed that a missile debris from the operation was found in the Turkish town of Iskenderun. According to the report, the debris did not cause any casualties.
