Pakistan Cricket Team’s Former Captain, Sarfraz Ahmed, Appointed as New Test Head Coach
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the appointment of Sarfraz Ahmed as the new head coach of the national test cricket team. According to sources, the formal announcement of his appointment is expected to be made soon, and he will lead the team in the upcoming test series against Bangladesh. The test series against Bangladesh will be played from May 8-16, with the first test match starting on May 8 and the second test match starting on May 16. The series is part of the World Test Championship 2027.
Sarfraz Ahmed’s appointment comes after the resignation of Azhar Mahmood, who served as the interim head coach for the team’s recent series against South Africa. The PCB has also announced the schedule and squads for the National T20 Cup.
In other cricket news, Pakistan Hockey Team has secured a third consecutive qualification for the World Cup Hockey Qualifier by defeating Austria. India has also qualified for the semi-finals of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, which were rescheduled due to the presence of a solar eclipse.
