Pakistan’s trade deficit has seen a significant increase in February, with exports decreasing by 25% compared to January, according to the statistics released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS). The trade deficit has risen to 8.4% on a monthly basis, reaching $2.98 billion. In the first six months of the current fiscal year, exports have increased by 10.52%.
According to the PBS, the total exports in July to December period stood at $16.56 billion. The trade deficit has increased by 25% from $25 billion to $31.25 billion in eight months. The current fiscal year has seen a 7.3% decrease in exports and an 8.1% increase in imports.
