Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was a brave Muslim leader who was born in 1939 in Mashhad, Iran, in a religious family. He studied in the seminaries of Mashhad and Qom, where he was influenced by the revolutionary activities of Imam Khomeini. After Khomeini’s death in 1989, Khamenei was appointed as the Supreme Leader of Iran, becoming the highest authority in the country and overseeing the implementation of the country’s national policies, including defense and foreign affairs.
In recent months, Iran has faced alleged attacks from the US and Israel, and Khamenei, as the Supreme Leader, played a key role in shaping the country’s response, including its military and foreign policies. He was a strong advocate for resistance against Western influence.
The international community has reacted to Khamenei’s death with concern and condemnation. Indian opposition party Congress President Sonia Gandhi said that the Indian government had ignored its long-time ally, Iran. Qatar’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Majeed al-Ansari said that Iran had not informed Qatar about the missile attacks before they occurred.
Russia has warned that the Iran conflict could lead to a nuclear arms race in the Middle East. The UAE has stated that it will not allow its airspace to be used for attacks on Iran.
The assassination of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has sent shockwaves across the world, with many expressing their condolences and paying tribute to the late leader.
