Iranian Revolutionary Guards claimed to have targeted the US aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln with four ballistic missiles in the Gulf, in response to American and Israeli attacks that killed Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei. The USS Abraham Lincoln was reportedly hit by four ballistic missiles, with one building destroyed in the incident. The Iranian Revolutionary Guards stated that the attack was a response to the US and Israeli aggression, and that their forces had entered a new phase of operations, with land and sea becoming graveyards for terrorist aggressors.
The US Central Command, however, claimed to have struck an Iranian ship in the Gulf of Oman, saying that the ship was targeted in Operation Aphrodite, with the ship reportedly sinking near the Chabahar Port. Iranian TV reported that the Supreme Leader’s wife, Mansoureh Bagherzadeh, was severely injured in the US attack.
In response to the ongoing conflict, several countries in the region have taken measures to protect their citizens. The Saudi Embassy stated that the Kingdom had always supported diplomatic efforts to secure reliable agreements with Iran. The historic Golestan Palace in Tehran reportedly suffered damage in the recent US and Israeli attacks.
In a separate development, several Afghan Taliban officials have reportedly relocated to the Bamiyan province due to concerns over Pakistani airstrikes. A protest rally was held in Vienna, Austria, with the community of Muslim countries participating in the “Hands of Iran” demonstration.
In other news, Imran Khan’s former wife, Jemima Khan, has been fined £1,000 in the UK for violating a court order. The British government has also announced plans to evacuate British citizens stranded in Gulf countries due to the conflict. US President Donald Trump claimed that the UK had blocked the use of the Diego Garcia military base for attacks on Iran, with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson reportedly unhappy with the decision.
The US Central Command also reported that three US F-15E fighter jets had crashed in Kuwait, with the jets reportedly downed by friendly fire. Israel has reportedly targeted Iran’s nuclear facilities in the Natanz region.
