Karachi, Pakistan – The security situation in Karachi has led to the deployment of Rangers in various areas of the city. The force’s personnel are conducting patrols on major locations, sensitive installations, and main highways. According to the Rangers spokesperson, any attempts at lawlessness, vandalism, or violent protests will be met with severe consequences as they will not allow the situation to deteriorate.
The spokesperson also stated that individuals involved in violating the law will face strict legal action, and the public is advised to report any information to the Rangers helpline. However, in a separate incident, nine people lost their lives in clashes between protesters and police in Karachi, as protesters attempted to storm the US Consulate in the city.
The protesters, who were demonstrating against the recent US-Israeli attack on Iran, pelted stones and clashed with police, leading to severe shelling by law enforcement agencies. A traffic police chowki near Sultanabad Bridge was also set on fire. According to Dr. Sabir Memon, the head of the Trauma Center at the Civil Hospital, eight bodies and 20 injured individuals were brought to the hospital, receiving medical attention.
Dr. Memon stated that the identification process of the deceased is ongoing, and he cannot provide further information at this time. Meanwhile, the main route to Namaz Chorangi has been closed due to traffic congestion, while the traffic police are diverting people to alternative routes.
In a separate event, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif spoke with Jordan’s King Abdullah II over the phone, discussing the rapidly changing situation in the region. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to protecting Pakistan’s sovereignty, independence, and dignity at all costs.
The UAE’s Ministry of Defense has released a detailed report on the Iranian attacks and their consequences. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed his condolences to the Iranian people, stating that the people and government of Pakistan stand with the Iranian people in their time of grief.
In a related development, the Pakistan Army has reportedly taken control of the Afghan Taliban’s center post. The Pakistan Army has cleared Taliban compounds, removing enemy flags. Chairman PTI, Barrister Gohar Khan, expressed his condolences over the death of Ayatollah Khamenei, stating that he was deeply saddened by the news.
