Pakistan’s Governor for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Faisal Karim Kundi, has stated that Afghanistan has initiated the conflict, and Pakistan will bring it to an end. In his statement, he emphasized that the US should consider the possibility that the leftover arms are being used against Pakistan. Faisal Karim Kundi reiterated that Afghanistan had faced consequences for its aggressive actions in the past and will face them again.
The Minister of State for Interior, Talleh Choudhry, expressed that no one will be allowed to take Pakistan’s peace from them, as they are currently responding to the Afghan Taliban regime. He clarified that if the Afghan Taliban do not take action, Pakistan will counter the terrorists. On the other hand, the Chief Minister of Balochistan, Sanaullah Zehri, stated that the security forces have effectively responded to the enemy, conveying a clear message. He emphasized that Pakistan will defend its territorial integrity at any cost and will not tolerate safe havens for terrorists in Afghanistan.
Meanwhile, the Education Minister of Sindh, Sardar Ali Shah, presided over the Steering Committee meeting on February 12, 2026. During the meeting, the schedule for the new academic year 27-2026, including the admission schedule, exams, and holidays was approved. The Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Shahbaz Durrani, has reached out to his Saudi and Turkish counterparts.
The opposition alliance has initiated talks with the government. Sources reveal that the meeting between opposition leader, Mahmood Achakzai, and Rana Sanaullah took place in the Parliament House, where they discussed the current political situation. The Senate meeting was held at the Benazir Bhutto Shaheed University in Karachi, presided over by the University’s Chancellor and Provincial Minister for Education, Ismail Rahu.
The government of Pakistan has imposed a ban on drone operations within the country. The Higher Education Commission has expressed its concern over the delayed appointments in administrative and teaching positions across the country. They have directed all higher educational institutions to complete the recruitment process by August 15, 2026.
