Violence erupted in the town of Thana Khorho in Khairpur after a group of people attacked the police station, resulting in aerial firing, vandalism, and chaos. The police managed to rescue one of their colleagues, who was allegedly taken away by the attackers. IG Sindh Javed Ali Ohdo has directed the SSP Khairpur to submit a detailed report on the incident.
The police have been ordered to arrest all individuals involved in the aerial firing, damage to government property, and the abduction of the police officer. Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah visited the city for the third time this week and checked the prices of food items, fruits, and other commodities at shops and stalls on Sadar and Burns Road.
In a separate development, a gas cylinder explosion occurred in Chaman, resulting in the deaths of five children who were buried under the debris. The Chaman police said that the explosion occurred at a house in the Tori Top area of the city. A PTI spokesperson announced that the party’s new name will be named after Alima Khan, who reportedly requested the change.
The name change was reportedly decided during a meeting of the opposition alliance in Islamabad last night, which was attended by members including Mahmood Khan Achakzai, Allama Naseer Abbas, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, and Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar.
