A helicopter carrying seven people, including a child, crashed into the sea off the coast of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands in India due to technical issues. Fortunately, all passengers and crew members were rescued safely by a prompt rescue operation.
According to Indian media, the helicopter, operated by Pawan Hans, took off from the city of Port Blair at around 8:45 am. However, technical issues arose around 9:30 am, forcing the pilot to make an emergency landing in the sea near Mayabunder. The incident occurred just two days after a helicopter crashed in the Indian state of Jharkhand, killing seven people.
All seven people on board, including two crew members and five passengers, were rescued from the sea and taken to a local hospital. Authorities confirmed that none of the passengers were injured in the incident.
Senior civil aviation officials said that preliminary investigations suggest that the pilot made a controlled landing on the water due to possible technical issues. A formal investigation has been launched to determine the actual causes of the incident.
