Indian authorities have arrested two sisters and one associate on charges of sex trafficking, coercion, and forced conversion in the central state of Madhya Pradesh. The accused allegedly lured victims from poor backgrounds with promises of employment, a monthly salary of 10,000 rupees, and better living conditions.
According to Indian media reports, the two sisters had previously resided in a slum in the city of Abbas Nagar, but after undergoing sex reassignment surgery, they moved to a luxurious residence under a new identity. Investigators believe that the sisters’ wealth was acquired through illicit means.
The case came to light when two women, aged 21 and 32, filed separate complaints at the Baghsuniya police station. The victims alleged that they were targeted by the sisters, who promised them employment and better living conditions. However, they were later taken to parties, clubs, and lounges where they were forced to engage in prostitution and subjected to physical abuse.
One of the victims alleged that she was taken to Ahmedabad in December 2025 and subjected to physical abuse by a member of the same gang. The second victim, who worked as a domestic help, claimed that she was subjected to physical abuse and threatened with death by Chandan Yadav, one of the accused.
During the investigation, police seized the mobile phones of the accused, which contained WhatsApp groups and images of multiple girls. The police suspect that the gang operates a nationwide network with connections in Gujarat and Mumbai.
