Peshawar High Court has sentenced a lawyer to six months in prison for contempt of court. Justice Aijaz Anwar, a member of the District Bar Association Swat, delivered the verdict against Asadullah, a lawyer who was accused of harassing a female civil judge and using unbecoming language. The court stated that the accused lawyer had intimidated the judge and attempted to pressure her into making a favorable decision, despite receiving unsatisfactory responses and court orders.
Meanwhile, a meeting was held by the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) under the chairmanship of Federal Minister for Finance, Muhammad Aurangzeb, which issued a statement. Iranian Ambassador stated that these changes will lead to further changes in the region. According to the statement, the Prime Minister praised the role of the Qatar Businessmen Association in strengthening Pakistan-Qatar trade relations.
In other news, a meeting was held between Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister, Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman bin Thani.
