In a disturbing turn of events, Pakistan has witnessed two separate terrorist attacks, resulting in the loss of precious lives. In the first incident, an unidentified group of individuals opened fire on a police mobile in Shikar Dara Road, a neighboring area of Kohat, leaving 7 people martyred, including 6 police officials and 1 civilian. According to the Deputy Commissioner, DSP Asad Mahmood and 5 other police personnel lost their lives in the terrorist attack, while 1 civilian also succumbed to his injuries.
In a separate incident in Quetta’s Sariab area, a police mobile came under attack, resulting in the martyrdom of 3 police personnel, including an Inspector, and 1 civilian was injured. The attackers managed to escape after the incident.
The Deputy Commissioner has stated that the terrorists also set the police mobile on fire. Following the incident, the area has been cordoned off, and a search operation is underway. The injured police personnel and a civilian have been shifted to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
Interior Minister Mohsin Nawaz has strongly condemned the terrorist attack on the police mobile in Kohat, terming it a “Fitan-e-Khawarij” attack. He paid tribute to the martyred DSP Asad Mahmood and 3 police personnel and extended his condolences to their families.
In a separate development, the federal minister for finance, Mohsin Nawaz, chaired a meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC), which issued a statement. Iranian Ambassador Amir Saeed Arab stated that the developments in the region would lead to further changes.
In another incident, a meeting was held with the family of Benazir Bhutto in Adiala Jail, Rawalpindi. The family was provided with a conference room for the meeting. Yasmine Rashid, a PTI-backed candidate in the recent general elections, has filed an appeal against the Election Tribunal’s decision in the Supreme Court.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif met with Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister Sheikh Saud bin Abdul Rahman bin Thani. Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz praised the team for reducing prices. “There will be no purchases without a reduction in prices,” she appealed to the public to boycott retailers.
