The Sindh government has taken a firm stance against hoarders and profiteers, vowing to take iron-fisted action against them. Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah announced that the government would not bear the burden of inflation during Ramadan, and measures would be taken to ensure the availability of essential commodities at government-set prices.

The Chief Minister directed Assistant Commissioners to be vigilant in the field and implement the price control policy strictly. He emphasized the need to ensure the availability of essential commodities at government-set prices and to take action against hoarders and profiteers.
The Sindh government has launched a crackdown on hoarders and profiteers, with 870 shops checked and Rs 24 million in fines imposed. A spokesperson for the Chief Secretary of Sindh announced that the government would continue to monitor the situation and take necessary measures to control prices during Ramadan.
The federal government, led by Finance Minister Miftah Ismail, also held an emergency meeting to discuss the economic situation. The meeting was attended by Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan, who praised the efforts of the government to control prices and called for further reforms in the region.
In other news, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met with Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister, Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, to discuss trade relations between the two countries. Punjab Chief Minister, Hamza Shahbaz, praised the efforts of his team to reduce prices and appealed to the public to boycott retailers who do not adhere to the prices set by the government.
In a separate incident, a woman was injured in a road accident in Lahore, and a baby was kidnapped from a hospital in Karachi. Police arrested the accused and launched an investigation into the incident.
