A devastating bus crash in the Dhaulagiri region of Nepal has claimed the lives of 19 people, while 25 others have been injured. According to foreign media reports, the bus, carrying 44 passengers, plunged 200 meters into a deep gorge in the Beghighat area of Dhaulagiri District. The Nepali police stated that the bus was on its way to the capital city, Kathmandu, from the tourist city of Pokhara when the accident occurred.
The deceased include 19 British nationals, while the injured include one New Zealand and one Chinese citizen. In a separate incident, a bus crash in Peru has claimed the lives of 13 people and left five others injured.
The injured passengers have been shifted to hospitals in Kathmandu. The bus was on a routine journey when it met with the accident. A 22-year-old woman from Tamil Nadu, who was a student and a resident of Thirupur, was also among the injured. She had been living in Bengaluru for the past five months for her studies.
