The security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Peshawar and successfully eliminated 5 terrorists affiliated with the terrorist group, Fatah ul Khawarij. The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) of the Pakistan Army stated that the eliminated terrorists were involved in multiple terrorist activities. The incident clearly shows that the terrorists have no relation with Islam, as they desecrated the sanctity of the holy month of Ramadan.
The ISPR announced that the measures to eradicate terrorism across the country are ongoing. They also stated that operations against terrorists will continue without any discrimination. President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz praised the security forces for their successful operation against Fatah ul Khawarij in Peshawar. In a statement, President Zardari stated that the successful operation is a reflection of the national resolve. He also emphasized that the fight against terrorism will continue until its complete eradication.
On the other hand, Prime Minister Aziz stated that the security forces have achieved significant success against terrorism. He also said that the entire nation stands with the Pakistan Army in this fight against terrorism. The Prime Minister also reiterated that the government is determined to eradicate terrorism from the country.
In a separate incident, the Police have taken action against a government official who was allegedly involved in a case of harassment. The accused official, Mahmoud Khan Achakzai, has been accused of harassing a government employee. The Police have also arrested the accused official and are investigating the matter.
